The Steering Group devises basic strategy based on a broad analysis of global and domestic trends related to IPv6, and supports the activities of each of the Council Working Groups and members.

With the strong support of the Council members, this group is aggressively involved in liaison activities among related organizations within Japan and abroad, and also handles various publicity activities, promotion, web-based information sourcing, and conference activities.

We implement concrete programs concerning the exhaustion of IPv4 Address Space and IPv6 Transition in conjunction with the government agencies and major domestic telecom industry bodies. In the expansion of economic activities on the Internet, we reconsider new roles for IPv6 and contribute to the social infrastructure formation and development in a new era.
